About Me

Three Sisters Cupcake Company was created in 2008 and named for my three daughters at the time, Alexandra, Sophia & Ava. Isabella, born in 2009, is my new constant companion in the kitchen and first witness to every cupcake out of the oven. I only use home made batters and icing. My menu is an example of my favorite creations, but I also take custom orders. Thank you for visiting my blog; here is where I will keep you updated on new flavors and events.

Raspberry Lemonade

With summer fast approaching fresh lemonade seems to be just the thing for picnics or barbecues. What could be better than a raspberry lemonade cupcake to finish off the perfect summer picnic? So I decided to get started on creating just that. I started with my own raspberry syrup to incorporate into a lemon cupcake and raspberry cream cheese icing. The end result was a deliciously sweet syrup, but it was lost in the cupcake. The lemon took over. It was a pretty cupcake, but it's back to the drawing board!

Pretty Bridal Shower Tower

This post is over due but necessary as it may be my most favorite order yet. I created this tower for a bridal shower. The top tier is a strawberry cake with strawberry buttercream frosting and hand crafted flowers; cake baking was indeed my first love.

The bottom three tiers are filled with three different cupcakes: chocolate grand marnier with chocolate orange frosting, raspberry ricotta almond with raspberry mascarpone and caramel filled sweet chocolate with buttercream.

Latest and Greatest

I've been filling orders like crazy around here and catering a few events. BUSY! Which is just how I like it. I've added new photos to my flickr scroll to the left. Here are a couple of highlights:

These are delicate orange cupcakes with orange creamsicle icing created to fill a cupcake tower for a Mother's Day celebration.

My daughter's second grade class had a fairy tale themed party. I brought a three tiered cupcake tower of prince and princess cupcakes. I made the crowns by rolling out laffy taffy candies, hand cutting the shapes and then molding them.

These are Carrot with Maple cream cheese frosting, Sweet Chocolate with Peanut Butter Buttercream and All Over Crumb. These filled an order for a graduation party.

A sweet ending

This past weekend I set up a booth at our local soccer league's biggest tournament. I baked and iced over 1400 mini cupcakes. I would like to thank everyone who came by and bought them. I have some pretty amazing supporters who I love to make happy. In addition, I am thankful for all the new people I met, those who gave me a million compliments, those who came back a few times and those who placed an order. It was a very successful event and I had a blast from when I started measuring the flour to when I folded up the table once it was all over.

But the best part might be this:

We sold over 700. I was thrilled. This left almost 700 to pack up and take home. Instead we took them to my church's soup kitchen. To say that the women who run the kitchen and those who were being fed that night were excited is an understatement. To say that I was overwhelmed by their happiness and gratefulness is a bigger understatement. This made a really good day, absolutely amazing.

The way to a man's heart is through his stomach...

My husband and I celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary yesterday. To mark the occasion, I created these, my new favorites:

Strawberry ganache filled chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting and chocolate covered strawberries. They are chocolate decadence at its best. I've decided these are the world's most perfect special occasion cupcakes for the one you love. They are also perfect for birthday parties, holiday parties, weddings, baby showers, graduations, and hey, I might even make a batch tomorrow because it's Thursday; they are just too good to wait for my anniversary to roll around again!

Tres Leche Coconut with Dulce de Leche Buttercream

It's been a long time since I've made cupcakes for just me and my little family. Oh yes, my daughter made her Communion last week and I made a few dozen for the party, but on Wednesday, Cinco de Mayo, they were just for us and boy did we enjoy them. Everyone from the one year old up to my husband had two. And well, some of us had more than two....
